Rajasthan Bird Watching Vacation

Destinations Covered: Delhi - Agra - Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary - Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary - Ranthambore National Park - Ajmer - Delhi

Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
Upon your arrival at the Delhi Airport, you will be greeted by our travel executive and he will take you to the hotel. After making a check in at the hotel, freshen up and get ready to visit Okhla Barrage. At barrage you will do some bird watching and later return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi - Agra - Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary
As per the train timings you will be dropped at the Delhi Railway Station to catch a train to Agra. Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the travel guide, he will take you to the Taj Mahal - the ultimate symbol of love and romance. Later continue your drive to Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary. Upon arrival at Chambal you will make a check in at the lodge, where you will freshen up and get ready to visit the Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride on the Chambal River for bird watching and wildlife viewing. Return to the lodge for night stay.

Day 03: Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary - Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Morning time will be spent in bird watching at the Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is blessed with a perennial river, Chambal which is bordered by many steep narrow valley and vegetation along the river bank. Here you will observe the species of Indian Skimmer. Later, you will be driven to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary; check-in at the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 04: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is also called Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. It is considered to be one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world as well as an unrivalled breeding site for the Painted Stork, Purple Heron, White Ibis and the Eurasian Spoonbill. In this sanctuary, it will be possible for you to see 150 species in a single morning during bird watching. You will also observe some of the Indian Cormorants, Intermediate Egrets, flocks of Great White Pelicans and Night Herons form the bulk of the resident population. Return to the lodge and enjoy the bonfire and relax.

Day 05: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
The sanctuary has superb wetland, which attracts many birds of prey like the Eurasian Marsh Harrier, Greater Spotted Eagle and the Steppe Eagle, which is perhaps the most common. During the bird watching, you will get to observe Smoky Warbler, Booted Warbler and Brook's Leaf Warbler. At neighboring fields you will observe Oriental Skylark and Variable Wheatear. Return to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 06: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
After having breakfast at the sanctuary, you will be driven to the reservoir of Bund Baretha Sanctuary; the sanctuary is well admired for Indian Skimmers and other species like Eurasian Spoonbill, River Tern, Rufous-tailed Lark, Yellow-wattled Lapwing and the Black-capped Kingfisher are also found outside the park. After spending your day at the Bund Baretha Sanctuary, you will be driven back to Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary for overnight stay.

Day 07: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary - Ranthambore National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast you will depart from Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary to Ranthambore National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you will make a check in at the lodge, freshen up, have lunch and relax for some time. In the evening you will visit the buffer area of Ranthambore National Park for bird watching. Whereas, at the green land you will get to see yellow - leg buttoned Quail and Jungle Bush Quail. Return to the lodge for night stay.

Day 08: Ranthambore National Park
The day will be full of fun for nature lovers as on this day you will go for safari from morning to evening. On safari you will visit the thousand year old fort and watch out the raptors. You will also visit the adjoining wetlands, where you will observe large flocks of Demoiselle Cranes, Spot-billed Pelicans, Greater Flamingos and various water birds. Return to the lodge, before sunsets as it will be dangerous to stay out of lodge.

Day 09: Ranthambore National Park - Surwal Lake - Ranthambore National Park
In the morning you will be driven to the picturesque destination of Surwal Lake- it is twenty-five kilometers far from Ranthambore. During winter seasons you will see Pelicans, Demoiselle Cranes, Bar Headed Flamingoes and Graylag geese. In the evening you will be driven back to Ranthambore National Park. Spend the rest of the time at leisure.

Day 10: Ranthambore National Park - Ajmer
On the tenth day of the vacation you will leave Ranthambore National Park and head towards Ajmer. Upon arrival at Ajmer, you will check-in at the already booked hotel and freshen up and get ready to visit the Ana Sagar Lake. The lake is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer. One island is in the middle of the lake and the only means of transport is the boat and water scooter. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Ajmer - Sonkhaliya - Ajmer
In the morning you will leave Ajmer for a day excursion to Sonkhaliya. Sonkhaliya is famous for its bird watching activity. Visiting this place is a great experience as you will get to see different species of birds. Later return to the hotel, relax, have your meal and sleep.

Day 12: Ajmer - Delhi
After morning breakfast you will pack up your luggage and leave for Pushkar. It is one of the oldest cities and has good number of temples with fifty - two Ghats. Later you will be dropped at the Railway Station to catch a train for Delhi. Upon your arrival at Delhi Railway Station you will be received by our executive. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Delhi Departure
After breakfast you will be dropped at the Delhi Airport according to your flight timings.
